Convert Images to PDF

Ad

Turn a set of JPG or PNG images into a single PDF, one image per page. Handy for sending photos of receipts, turning phone snaps of a document into something printable, or bundling scanned pages into one file.

How it works

PDF supports JPG and PNG data directly, so each image can be embedded into the document as-is rather than being converted or re-compressed. That's why this runs instantly in your browser and why quality is preserved exactly.

For each image the tool creates a page at your chosen size, then scales the image to fit inside the margins while keeping its proportions, and centres it. Nothing is stretched or cropped.

With orientation set to match each image, portrait photos get portrait pages and landscape photos get landscape pages, which avoids large empty bands on a mixed batch.

Worked example

You've photographed six paper receipts for an expenses claim. Adding all six, leaving the page size at A4 and orientation on "match each image", produces a six-page PDF with each receipt centred on its own page — one attachment instead of six.

For a document photographed page by page, put the images in reading order using the arrows before creating the PDF, since the page order follows the list exactly.

Common questions

Which image formats can I use?

JPG and PNG. These are the two formats PDF supports natively, which is what lets the conversion happen in your browser without re-encoding anything. HEIC photos from an iPhone need converting to JPG first.

Will my photos lose quality?

No. Each image is embedded into the PDF exactly as it is, not recompressed. A page looks identical to the original file.

What does the "Match each image" orientation setting do?

It looks at each image and chooses portrait or landscape to suit it, so a mixed batch of photos doesn’t end up with wide shots squeezed onto tall pages.

Why is my PDF so large?

Because the images are embedded at full quality. A dozen modern phone photos can easily produce a 40 MB PDF. Resize or compress the images before converting if you need a smaller file.

What is the margin measured in?

Points, the standard PDF unit — 72 points to an inch. The default of 36 gives a half-inch border. Set it to 0 for edge-to-edge images.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is processed in your browser, which matters more than usual here, since photos and scanned documents are often personal.
