Delete Pages from a PDF
Add the PDF tools to your home screen and they work with no connection — your files never leave your device either way.
- Tap the Share button in Safari
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
Remove pages you don't want from a PDF and download the trimmed result. Useful for stripping out blank scanner pages, adverts, or sections that aren't relevant to whoever you're sending the file to.
How it works
The tool reads your PDF on your own device and works out which pages are not in your delete list. It then creates a new document and copies those survivors across in their original order, leaving the source file untouched.
Deleting is simply the inverse of extracting: whatever you don't name is what you keep. If it's easier to describe the pages you want than the ones you don't, use the split tool instead — the result is identical.
Worked example
A scanned 30-page report has a blank back-of-page after every scanned sheet, landing on pages 2, 4, 6 and so on. Entering those even numbers leaves a clean 15-page document at roughly half the file size.
Another everyday case: a downloaded invoice with two pages of terms and conditions at the end. Entering 4-5 leaves just the invoice itself for your records.
Common questions
How do I specify which pages to delete?
Use commas and hyphens — for example "2, 5-7, 11". Everything you list is removed and everything else is kept in its original order.
Can I delete every page?
No. If your selection would remove all the pages, the tool stops and tells you, since an empty PDF isn’t a useful result.
Do the remaining pages get renumbered?
The pages themselves keep whatever numbers are printed on them — that’s part of the page content. Only their position in the file changes. If you need fresh numbering, use the add page numbers tool afterwards.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The document is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
What if I delete the wrong pages?
Your original file is never modified, so just run the tool again with a corrected selection. The download is always a separate new file.
